Dr. Caston has taught a full load at the college, maintained a position as interim minister of music at First Baptist Church of Perry, and found time for three outside performances.
“Over the past several months I have prayed for performance opportunities and little by little, God answered those prayers,” said Dr. Caston. “I believe that when we pray for specific things, God will give us specific answers.”
On March 28 and 29, the professional tenor sang solos in Greg Nelson and Bob Ferrell’s “Savior: A Modern Oratorio” with First Baptist Church of Newnan’s Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra. Dr. Caston will return to FBC Newnan in July as a soloist for their “Celebration of Freedom Concert.”
On April 4, he was the tenor soloist for Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” with the Georgia College and State University’s Chorale. On April 24, he made his second appearance with the Hilton Head Choral Society and Orchestra in Schubert’s “Mass in G”. And, looking to the future, Dr. Caston recently auditioned for and was selected as the tenor soloist for Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9” with the Gainesville Symphony on October 24.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four year Christian college in south Georgia.
