Join the Brewton-Parker Barons Coaching Staff for Lunch
Barons Club Luncheon Tips-off Oct. 29 in Vidalia
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Barons Club invites the community to “meet, greet, and eat” with the Barons Athletic Department for the first lunch-time meeting of the college’s athletic “booster” club.
The club will meet at Captain’s Corner in Vidalia, Thursday, Oct. 29 from noon to 1 p.m. These luncheons will be held quarterly throughout the year, and are intended to help build awareness and support of the community’s “hometown college” athletic program – the BPC Barons. Selected coaches speak at each luncheon, giving insight into the progress of their programs and taking questions from those present.
Membership to the Baron Club is open and based on financial support to the college’s intercollegiate athletic program. Members and non-members are encouraged to attend.
“Exciting things are happening in Brewton-Parker Athletics! We feel it is important for our coaches to avail themselves to our friends in Vidalia and articulate the winning tradition that exists in our programs,” said Coach John D. Jones, director of athletic development at BPC, and the head’s men’s basketball coach.
The luncheon’s program will review the fall season sports and preview the winter/spring sports, including basketball, which begins the following week with the Baron Tip-off Classic, an annual tournament at BPC, to be held Nov. 6-7 on the Mount Vernon campus.
Door prizes will be awarded. Lunch is $7 per person. All attendees will receive complimentary tickets to the BPC Tip-Off Classic.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia, and is a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Barons compete in the following sports: men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country and women’s volleyball.
