BPC invites area students to annual Rocket Blast Off
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences invites area fourth through sixth graders to attend the annual Rocket Blast Off Saturday, Sept. 26 on the Mount Vernon campus.
Cost to attend the event is $8 and provides the student with everything needed to build their own rocket with the assistance of BPC students and professors.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon. It will be held in the Morgan-Moses Math and Science Building. Rockets will be launched by BPC professors and students on the soccer field behind the Snooks Student Activities Center.
“Our hope is that students learn the fun that math and science have to offer,” said Dr. Chris Jones, BPC chemistry professor and organizer of the event.
Register today as the first 25 spots are guaranteed. Contact Dr. Jones at ctjones@bpc.edu. Checks may be made payable to Brewton-Parker College.
