First student moves in to restored McAllister Hall

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College students are returning to campus a little early this week to get a jump on the 2010 soccer season. This early move-in also welcomes the first student to move into the newly-restored McAllister Hall Women’s Residence Hall on the Mount Vernon campus.
            Brittny Armstrong of Orange Park, Fla., with the assistance of her family, moved into her new dorm room in McAllister Monday, August 2. Armstrong’s mom is a little sad to see her daughter go off to college, but she’s excited for her. Brittny is a member of the women’s soccer team.
            Richie Moore of Kathleen, Ga., was the first male to move in on campus this semester. He’s a member of the men’s soccer team. Moore said, “I’m ready for soccer,” and he’s looking forward to “seeing how this semester goes.”

            Fall semester begins August 23. The first soccer scrimmage game is Saturday, August 14. The men play at 4 p.m. and the women follow at 6 p.m. The community is invited to attend the event. There is no cost for admission. Go to www.bpc.edu and look under Athletics for more information.
            Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia. With its main campus located in Mount Vernon, the college also offers bachelor’s and associate’s degrees at its external site in Newnan.
