New text alert system for campus

Brewton-Parker College’s Technology Services Department is now offering a text messaging alert system for the Mount Vernon campus to inform users of impending emergency and weather situations and other information deemed appropriate by BPC

BPC Lady Barons Basketball team will host blood drive Sept. 2

The Brewton-Parker College Lady Barons Basketball team will sponsor a blood drive Thursday, Sept. 9 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the bloodmobile parked next to the Phillips Student Center on the Mount Vernon campus. The goal is to get 20 units of blood, especially Type O and Type B.

Brewton-Parker to offer Conversational Chinese to community

Thanks to a visiting professor from Zhoukou Normal University in China, Brewton-Parker College will offer a beginning conversational Chinese language class to the community Monday nights this fall at 6:30 p.m.

The community is invited to come out to campus Saturday, August 21 to watch some of the finest competitive soccer around. The Barons Soccer teams will face Freed-Hardeman in their first season home game.

Dr. Thom Brucie, assistant professor of English and creative writing at Brewton-Parker College, was recently featured in an online press newsletter about his latest published work, a poetry chapbook centered on the human experience during the Vietnam War.
