Spring writing class open to community
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Division of Arts and Letters announces the return of its community writing classes this spring with ENG/CRW 350, a creative writing class focused on short story writing.
“We will utilize the technique of dismantling a short story to study its parts, and we will find out what components work and why,” said Dr. Thom Brucie, creative writing professor at BPC who will teach the class. “This process will assist in writing our own short story, and by the end of the semester you will have your own completed creative work of fiction.”
The three-credit hour class meets Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
“Prerequisites for this class have been dropped, so even if you haven’t taken a creative writing class before or if you would like to take this class for non-credit (community), you can participate,” added Dr. Brucie.
To register for the class, contact Greg Coursey in Admissions at 912-583-3265 or email Dr. Brucie tbrucie@bpc.edu.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in South Georgia.
