  Former Brewton-Parker College student Suzanne “Suzy” Douglas was selected Worth County Primary Schools 2011 Teacher of the Year.

BPC hosts High School Christmas Tournament

  Come out to Brewton-Parker’s campus this week, Wednesday and Thursday, to see some of the best local high school basketball around. Eight girl’s and seven boy’s teams representing ten high schools are set to take center court Tuesday at the 8th Annual BPC High School Christmas Tournament hosted by Brewton-Parker College, and sponsored by the Holiday Inn Express.

Sarah Eishen receives UPS scholarship

  BPC Freshman Sarah Eishen is the recipient of the 2010-2011 United Parcel Service (UPS) scholarship. Eishen was notified of her selection of the scholarship earlier last week, said Shannon Mullins, Director of Financial Aid.

BPC graduate named Missouri Teacher of the Year State Finalist

  Brewton-Parker College graduate, Doug Logan, ’03, was named a state finalist in the Missouri Teacher of the Year 2010 competition, after being named the 2010 Teacher of the Year for his school district, Carl Junction R-1.

Pi Gamma Mu inducts new members to BPC chapter

  The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Brewton-Parker College hosted an induction ceremony for new members of its honor society, Pi Gamma Mu, Dec. 1 at Steeplechase Restaurant in Vidalia.

Dr. Faw retires after more than 15 years of service at BPC
  Dr. Bill Faw, Professor of Psychology, SACS Accreditation Liaison, and Assistant to the Provost for Academic Assessment at Brewton-Parker College, celebrated more than 15 years of service at a retirement luncheon hosted by members of the BPC family on Thursday, December 9, on the Mount Vernon Campus.

BPC family visits “Night of Lights” celebration at Guido Gardens

  Brewton-Parker College President Dr. David R. Smith and his wife, Jackie, invited all faculty, staff, and students to join them on a special trip to Guido Gardens last Friday to look at the facility’s Christmas Light displays. A fun time was had by all.

Spring writing class open to community

  Brewton-Parker College’s Division of Arts and Letters announces the return of its community writing classes this spring with ENG/CRW 350, a creative writing class focused on short story writing.

BPC brings British tradition to campus with cricket exhibition

 

The Patriots once again defeated the Tories at Brewton-Parker College, this time in a friendly game of cricket, sponsored by the college’s History Society. Dr. Ian Crowe, Associate Professor of History, engaged students, faculty, and staff in an exhibition match Thursday, Dec. 2 in which ability ranged from seasoned cricket players to novices.

  Brewton-Parker College’s Miss BPC and the Cheerleading squad, under the direction of advisor Kimberly Lajiness, participated in the 2010 Vidalia Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec. 5.

  Brewton-Parker College President Dr. David R. Smith and his wife, Jackie, invite the community to join them for a Christmas Open House Sunday, Dec. 12 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in their home on the Mount Vernon campus.
