SAC announces Homecoming theme, week activities
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Student Activities Council (SAC) announced the theme for 2010 Homecoming week and dance, said Dean Sherrie Helms, BPC Dean of Students. This year’s Homecoming celebrations will be held Feb. 22-27.
“Music of the Night” from the musical “Phantom of the Opera” will be this year’s theme. BPC students will announce the 2010 Homecoming Court representatives and king and queen between the Men’s and Women’s basketball games Saturday, Feb. 27.
Activities and “Crazy Days” are as follows:
- Feb. 22: Pajama Day; Baron Idol, 8 p.m., Gates Hall Auditorium
- Feb. 23: “Dress Like Your Favorite Movie Character” Day; Barons Basketball games, Women, 6 p.m., Men, 8 p.m., Gillis Gymnasium
- Feb. 24: Tacky Day; Movie Night, 8 p.m., Gates Hall Auditorium
- Feb. 25: Spirit Day; Barons Basketball games, Women, 6 p.m., Men, 8 p.m., Gillis Gymnasium
- Feb. 26: Toga Day; Dinner served in the Barons Den, 5 p.m., Barons Den in Gillis Gymnasium; Faculty/Staff versus Student Basketball game, 6 p.m., Gillis Gymnasium; Pep Rally, 6:30 p.m., Gillis Gymnasium; Homecoming Court rehearsal, 7:30 p.m., Gillis Gymnasium
- Feb. 27: Homecoming Court pictures, 1 p.m., Location to be announced; Homecoming Basketball games, Women, 2 p.m., Men, 4 p.m.; Presentation of Homecoming Court, 3:45 p.m., Gillis Gymnasium; Homecoming Dance, 8 p.m. to midnight, Cyber Café
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in South Georgia. Affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention, BPC’s main campus is located in Mount Vernon and it has an external center in Newnan.
