BPC Concert Choir and Choral Society to perform John Rutter's 'Requiem'

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton Parker College’s Concert Choir and Choral Society will perform John Rutter’s “Requiem” & New York Concert Preview on Sunday, March 21, BPC Choral Director Sonja Sepulveda has announced. The performance will be at 3 p.m. in Saliba Chapel on the BPC campus. Admission to the concert is free.
The BPC Choral Society, composed of members that include both Brewton-Parker students and community participants, will perform the program under the direction of Dr. Sepulveda and will feature Cindy Rollins, soprano soloist and senior majoring in Church Music.
The BPC Concert Choir will make their debut at Carnegie Hall in New York on Sunday, June 27, 2010. The Choir will have the honor and privilege of working with one of today’s most renowned composers and conductors, John Rutter. Recognized internationally as a composer of the first rank, Rutter is one of the leading proponents of sacred choral music in the world today. Under his expert leadership, the BPC Concert Choir and members of the Choral Society will perform Rutter’s hauntingly beautiful “Requiem.”
