BPC crowns Homecoming King, Queen
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College crowned Cody Michael Henderson and Anamarys Rivera Diaz Homecoming King and Queen Saturday, Feb. 28 in a ceremony inside the Gillis Gymnasium.
The class favorites are as follows: Freshman Class, Alessica Pryor and Zach Horsley; Sophomore Class, Shalayna Hatched and William K. Braswell Jr.; Junior Class, Sara Carr and Elijah Cliett; Senior Class, Courtney Parker and Eric DePratter.
The Homecoming 2010 week culminated with the crowning of king and queen, a dance and Homecoming Basketball games. The women slammed Allen University, 104-63, and the men downed Faulkner University, 64-61.
This year’s Homecoming Court also included the following students: Seniors, Jake Giannini, Stephen Moye, Jennifer Adams, Stephanie Huff; Juniors, Joshua Johnson, Jesse Greene, Desiree Caton, Kayla Oliver; Sophomores, Joshua B. McPhatter, Jeffrey Hoyos, Caroline Foster, Victoria Frazier; and, Freshmen, De’Mario Black, Kenneth Elliott, Jakeria Harper and Marla Hollis.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in South Georgia. Affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention, BPC’s main campus is located in Mount Vernon and it has an external center in Newnan.

| Brandon Barron, senior, wears Quintereal “Q” Kelley’s number 20 jersey during the Homecoming game Feb. 27 against Faulkner University. Kelley was Barron’s best friend on the team and, with permission from Coach John Jones, wears the number in memory of his friend. Q Kelley died Feb. 6 while visiting friends back home in Alabama.
