BPC Members Participate in Vidalia Onion Run/Walk

MOUNT VERNON—Approximately 26 students, faculty and staff from Brewton-Parker College participated in the Vidalia Onion Run/Walk on Saturday, April 24 during the Vidalia Onion Festival. Six members from BPC placed in their age category.
Laura Serrano, a sophomore human services major, placed first in her age group, women 15-19 in the 5K run. Also in the women’s group was Jalissa Johnson, a senior biology major, who placed second in her age group, women 20-24.
In the men’s 5K run, Jake Giannini, a senior biology major, placed first in his age group, men 20-24. Director of Admissions Mike Price, a BPC alum, came in second place in the men’s 20-24 age group. Mike also bettered his finish from third to second place in this age category since last year’s Vidalia Onion Run/Walk.
In the men’s 10K run, Karel Ruiz, a senior management major, placed second in his age group, men 20-24. Oswaldo Saravia, a junior general business major, placed second in his age group, men 25-39.
Circle K, a student service organization associated with Vidalia Kiwanis club, helped coordinate BPC’s participation by promoting the event on campus and signing students, faculty and staff up for the run/walk.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
