Six Brewton-Parker Education Division faculty members have had their scholarly papers accepted for presentation at the 35th Annual Meeting of the Georgia Educational Research Association (GERA) at the Georgia Coastal Conference Center, Savannah, on October 22 and 23, 2010. Papers submitted to GERA are rigorously reviewed and evaluated for scholarly quality by readers who are blind to the authors’ names and locations.
Dr. David W. Moffett and Professor Barbara Reid shall present their paper entitled, “The Elusive Nature of Reliability: Problems and Pitfalls in Scoring Clinical Practice Action Research Projects.” The paper is the result of the Division’s work the past three years of measuring education candidates’ effect on student learning.

“For a teacher education Unit this size, it is remarkable that so many of the scholarly papers withstood the scrutiny of the scholarly review process,” said Dr. Moffett. “Each member of the faculty in the nationally accredited division must produce acceptable, annual scholarly research and these papers reflect those requirements.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited, four-year Christian college in South Georgia.
