MOUNT VERNON – Brewton-Parker College Director of Athletics Sheila Simmons is pleased to announce the hiring of Jarvis Smith of Vidalia as the Interim Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Brewton-Parker College.
Former Barons men’s basketball head coach John D. Jones resigned from the college last month to pursue other opportunities.
“I am very excited with the hiring of Coach Smith,” said Coach Simmons. “He brings with him a wealth of integrity and character, and there is no doubt he will be a great leader for the Men’s Basketball team.”
No stranger to BPC and the Vidalia area, Coach Smith graduated from BPC back in 2004. He played for the men’s basketball team during this time and was a standout student-athlete. Since his graduation, Coach Smith has coached at Robert Toombs Christian Academy for almost five years where he accumulated an impressive 108-39 overall career record. In addition, he has won two State Championships and three Coach of the Year awards.
Coach Smith lives in Vidalia with his wife, Shandolyn, and their two children, Jarvis (5) and Shannon (1).
