BPC welcomes students to campus for 2011-2012 academic year
MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College will kick off the start of the 2011-2012 academic year by welcoming new students to campus Wednesday, August 17.
Baron Week, August 17-21, will welcome new students to campus while introducing them to Baron Life. This year’s theme is “The BPC Family Tree: The Difference is You!”
The five-day program includes fun activities and informational sessions for all new residential and commuter students. A calendar of the week’s activities is available online at www.bpc.edu/orientation.
The Barons soccer and volleyball teams returned to campus last week to begin practicing for the 2011 season. Soccer scrimmages were held on campus Friday, August 12 against USC-Salkehatchie. The men played first at 3 p.m. and the women followed at 5 p.m.
Another scrimmage will be held Wednesday, August 17 against Middle Georgia College. The women play at 3 p.m. and the men follow at 5 p.m. The Men’s Soccer team takes on Talladega College Saturday, August 20 at 3 p.m. at home.
The BPC Cheerleaders are also in full swing this week, getting ready for a pep rally to honor the soccer and volleyball teams on Friday, August 26.
These events are open to the public and the community is encouraged to come out and support the Barons.
