BPC faculty and staff honored at annual banquet

Dr. Mike Simoneaux, BPC President, welcomes faculty and staff members to another academic year at Brewton-Parker College Aug. 18 during the Faculty-Staff banquet in the Cyber Café on the Mount Vernon campus.

MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College annual fall Faculty-Staff Banquet, sponsored by ARAMARK dining services, honored faculty and staff members August 18 in the Cyber Café on the Mount Vernon campus.

The annual banquet recognized and welcomed new full-time employees hired since the 2010 annual banquet, and special presentations were made by two employees about their summer vacations.

             

New faculty and staff introduced by their respective administrators were:   

  • Enrollment Services: Leslie Allen (Financial Aid Office Manager), Joey Crosby (Security Guard), Jennifer Douglas (Financial Aid Counselor), Timothy Hammett (Director of Newnan Campus), Jeffrey Jackson (Security Guard), Joshua Johnson (Admissions Counselor) and Courtney Parker (Admissions Counselor, Newnan Campus).
  • Finance and Administration: Sarah Carr Winter (Fiscal Affairs Office Assistant)
  • Athletics: Laphelia Doss (Head Women’s Basketball Coach), Jayme Dye (Head Women’s Soccer Coach), Levelle Gerrald (Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach), Kimberly Kern (Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach) and Jarvis Smith (Head Men’s Basketball Coach).
  • Provost Office: Stephen Nichols (Library Circulation Assistant I)

Door prizes were compliments of the following local businesses: All Care Pharmacy, Arlene’s Fine Jewelry, Attic Treasures, B2K, Belk’s, Bella’s Boutique, Beth’s Florist, Brown Eyed Susan’s, Brown’s Jewelry, Cakes by Evelyn, Campus Connection, Dotted Lyon, Downtown Bistro, Elements, Finders Keepers, Fuzzy’s, Gabby’s Harvey’s Grocery Store, Hitching Post Hardware, Lowe’s, Merle Norman, Murphy’s Monogram, Panache, Phillips Pharmacy, Pizza Inn, Ruby Tuesday, Shoney’s of Vidalia, Shuman-Ideal Cleaners, Sizzle Tanning Boutique, Smiths’s Hardware, Steeplechase, A Taste of Philly, Treasures from the Attic, Vidalia Cleaners, Vidalia Ford and Webster Motors.

             

BPC’s hospitality committee decorated the banquet room in the theme: “Under Construction - Can we fix it? Yes, BPC can!” The theme thanked employees for their hard work upgrading and painting dorm rooms and cleaning up the campus over the summer.

Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
