MOUNT VERNON—Faculty, students, and numerous members of the community kicked off the Holiday season as they gathered on the front lawn of the Presidential Home on Brewton-Parker campus to celebrate a traditional Tree-lighting service hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Simoneaux on Dec. 1st. Guests enjoyed singing carols and taking part in a portrait sitting inside their home beside a large Christmas tree, which was beautifully decorated by Mrs. Simoneaux. During the ceremony, Dr. Simoneaux announced the winners of this year’s Dorm and Building Scottish Baron Decorating Competition. Winners were: McAlister’s room 207 with 64 points, Friendship’s room 104 with 61 points, and Newton Building with 62 points. The overall winner was McAlister’s room 207, sporting a creative display of the Grinch.
