Alumni Weekend at BPC to feature Reunion Alumni Choir

  Brewton-Parker College’s 2011 Alumni Weekend “Old Friends, Good Memories” is set to bring about 400 alumni and friends back to the campus April 8-9, according to Alumni Director Jessica James. “We have a large Reunion Alumni Choir under the direction of Prof. Hildegard Stanley scheduled to perform for us Saturday during the Tribute and Award Service in Saliba Chapel,” said James.

Area youth and college-age students invited to Awakening at BPC

  Brewton-Parker College’s Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) invites college and high school students in the surrounding areas to “Awakening” on the Mount Vernon campus, March 21-23. “The three evening service outreach is intended to be a time of discipleship and encouragement,” says Lauren Parnell, BCM campus missionary and event organizer.

Dr. Simoneaux accepts BPC acting presidency
 

Brewton-Parker College welcomes Dr. Mike Simoneaux as its acting president beginning next week. Dr. Simoneaux has served as the Vice President for Academic Services and is the current Vice President for Advancement Services at Truett-McConnell College (TMC) in Cleveland, Ga. His first day on the Mount Vernon campus is Wednesday, March 2.

Men’s Soccer to lead kids camp over Spring Break
  Brewton-Parker College Men’s Soccer team will host two Barons Spring Break Soccer Camps during both the Vidalia Schools and Montgomery County Schools spring breaks, Monday, March 28 through Thursday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 19 through Thursday, April 21, respectively.

BPC tours new Meadows Regional Hospital

  Members of Brewton-Parker College faculty and staff as well as Prof. David Kight's Operational Management class toured the new Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia Wednesday.

BPC announces new scholarship for high achievers

 

Brewton-Parker College announces the creation of a new scholarship competition for all incoming freshmen, beginning Fall 2011. The Pillars of Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to six academically-qualified freshmen each year.

2011 Homecoming adopts ’50s theme, announces campus events

  Brewton-Parker College students adopted a 1950’s theme for their 2011 Homecoming, Feb. 7-12, said Student Government Association President Joshua McPhatter. Continuing the throwback theme, students announced the dance Saturday night will be a Sadie Hawkins-style, where the girls ask the boys.

  The Brewton-Parker College Board of Trustees welcomed eight new members to its 31-member board Jan. 20, announced newly elected board chairman Dr. Tony Romans.

BPC Athletics to be featured on “Southern States Showcase”
 

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, added a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveiled its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. Brewton-Parker College of Mount Vernon is one of the 16 member institutions.

Rev. Bucky Kennedy leads BPC Chapel
  The January 25, 2011, Chapel at Brewton-Parker College opened with Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) President Andrew Tucker opening with prayer, followed by Bryan Mauldin with a scripture and singing. This week’s speaker was Pastor Bucky Kennedy of First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
