BPC Soccer Camp kick starts summer for area kids

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Soccer Program, led by husband and wife duo Michael and Jayme Dye, head coaches of the men’s and women’s soccer teams, held a successful summer soccer camp for area kids at BPC last week.
Children ages 5 to 14 learned the basics of soccer and those in more advanced areas of the sport received one-on-one instruction for further skills mastery. Coach Michael Dye reports the camp nearly tripled in size compared to the first camp held back in March. Mount Vernon, Ailey, Tarrytown and Vidalia residents were in attendance for the four-day program June 6-9 on the Mount Vernon campus.
“We had a blast working this camp. The weather was great and it wasn’t too hot. This was our last camp for the 2011 year. Be on the lookout for the next camps to begin March 2012.”
