MOUNT VERNON—Junior shortstop Sadie Mullins and freshman pitcher Myia Ashmore represented Brewton-Parker College on the SSAC All-Conference and All-Division teams for their efforts on the field this season.
Ashmore (FR-1l) was selected to the All-Eastern Division Team. As a pitcher, Ashmore had a batting average of .314. She won 14 games and had an ERA of 1.87. Ashmore was also selected to the SSAC All-Freshman Team after having a tremendous freshman year. “Myia really can help a team in a number of ways. She can hit for average and still supply a lot of power. Myia has speed and can field the ball exceptionally well. The sky is the limit for Myia,” said Coach Bryant.
Mullins (JR-3l) was selected to the SSAC All-Conference Team for the second year in a row for her outstanding efforts on the field this season. Mullins tied an NAIA record with 4 doubles in one game and lead the nation in doubles with 31. She was second on the team in homeruns (8) and third on the team in RBI’s (37). “She had a great junior season while playing many different positions for us the year. There are not enough accolades to give Sadie,” said Coach Bryant.
Coach Bryant went on to say these two young ladies are some of the reasons expectations are extremely high for next season. With Myia anchoring the pitching position and Sadie steadfast in the middle infield, Brewton-Parker Softball can be expected to accomplish great things in seasons to come.
