MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College experienced a revival on campus last week during Awakening with Christian Chapman.

More than 30 students professed their faith in Jesus, about 40 students rededicated their lives to Christ, and on Wednesday 30 BPC students and 6 youth from the Mount Vernon Methodist Church were baptized in the BPC pool.

“What an amazing week at Brewton-Parker! God is moving on this campus, and we praise Him for lives saved and lives changed,” said Kelley Arnold, director of news and public information.

Christian Chapman of Charlotte, N.C., is a member of Kingdom Building Ministries of Denver, Colo. He is also a NASCAR chaplain, competed in the off-road race Baja 1,000 and participated in a reality TV show on SpikeTV. While in college at Southern Wesleyan, he played baseball and still holds the record for SWU’s longest homerun. God used his experiences and perspective to reach students, faculty and staff at BPC. He spoke Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Saliba Chapel and gave the service for chapel on Tuesday.

“After last week’s Awakening services, I am completely blown away at God’s goodness! He worked in the lives of so many of our students and I am absolutely thrilled,” said Parnell. “I am in the process now of follow up and discipleship.”

BCM, coaches, staff and peers will create a community of discipleship for these students.

Affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention, Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
