Revival and Baptism at Brewton-Parker

  Brewton-Parker College experienced a revival on campus last week during Awakening with Christian Chapman. More than 30 students professed their faith in Jesus, about 40 students rededicated their lives to Christ, and on Wednesday 30 BPC students and 6 youth from the Mount Vernon Methodist Church were baptized in the BPC pool.

BPC names new Baron Idol
  Brewton-Parker College’s Baptist Collegiate Ministries raised $3,128 at the fifth annual Baron Idol fundraiser talent competition Thursday, March 24 in Saliba Chapel. These funds will be used to support BCM’s involvement in the Georgia Baptist Convention’s “Summer Missions” program across the globe.

2011 Miss BPC contestants sought

  Contestants in the 2011 Miss BPC Pageant are sought by the Office of Student Affairs, said Dean of Students Sherrie Helms. Deadline to participate in the poise, beauty and scholarship competition is Wednesday, March 30.

Biannual Math and Science Festival open to K-12 students

  Brewton-Parker College will host its annual Spring Math & Science Festival Saturday, April 9 in the college’s Morgan-Moses Building on its Mount Vernon campus from 10 a.m to noon.

BPC receives $10,000 gift from Central Baptist Church of Wadley

  Brewton-Parker College recently received a $10,000 gift from Central Baptist Church of Wadley. David Gunn, a deacon of the church and BPC trustee, presented BPC Chief Financial Officer Natasha Mason with the check on behalf of the congregation Feb. 21.

15 high school students win BPC scholarships during Young Writers Conference

  Brewton-Parker College’s Division of Arts and Letters hosted its annual Young Writers Conference Feb. 25, but this year there was an added bonus for participating high school students. Winners of each workshop category not only placed but were each awarded scholarships to the four year, Christian college.

BPC Cheerleaders take 2nd at CCA Nationals

  The Brewton-Parker College Cheerleaders competed at its first national competition this weekend and took home second place. The ladies performed a 2-1/2 minute cheer and “with music” combination of lifts, tumbling and dance at the Christian Cheerleaders Association (CCA) Nationals in Concord, N.C. Saturday, March 5.

Baron ‘baller’ Andrew Dikas shoots for Christ
 

Senior Guard Andrew Dikas’ story is one of aspiration meets inspiration. Andrew entered Brewton-Parker College two years ago with a scholarship to play basketball on Coach John D. Jones’ varsity team. A 6’5”, 210 lb., transfer from Voorhees College, Andrew is unquestionably talented in the game and an impressive force on the team.

AWAKENING at BPC set to revive area youth, college age students
  High school and college age students are invited to AWAKENING on Brewton-Parker’s campus March 21-23. This special evening event, beginning at 7 each night, will feature Christian Chapman, a NASCAR Chaplain affectionately known as the “Faster Pastor” because he competes in Mexico’s Baja 1,000.
