Men's Basketball Picks Up First Win Over Coastal Georgia

MOUNT VERNON— The Barons got their first win of a very young season on Saturday, Nov. 5, after a tough loss on Friday.  The Barons bounced back after losing 54 – 52 to Voorhees in the home opener in the Q Kelley Classic.  Darrie Stephens led the Barons with 13 points and 8 rebounds.  Jose Davila added 12 points along with Wendell William's 11 points.  On Saturday, the Barons won 64 – 53 against the College of Coastal Georgia.  The Barons were led by Darrie Stephens with 16 points.  Also, Wendell Williams and Yan Moukoury both added 15 points.  The win on Saturday not only marked the first win of the Coach Smith Era, but it also his first win as a collegiate coach.
