Too Close For Comfort
MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker Women's Basketball welcomed, soon to be SSAC member, College of Coastal Georgia to Mount Vernon Saturday, Nov. 5, for the final game of the Q Kelley Classic. The two teams began what seemed to be a game of trading baskets.
Coastal Georgia played a roster of seven players all who played 25 or more minutes for the game. BPC had opportunities to put the game away, however missed FT's and lack of crashing the defensive boards made things too close for comfort.
Senior Quagee Gaines led all scorers finishing with 12pts and 8rebs. Freshman Porshia Cleveland followed behind with 11pts. A final score of 51-49 gave Brewton-Parker subtle comfort for what was the first meeting of these two teams.
Brewton-Parker will face Coastal Georgia again Monday, November 14, 2011 at 6pm in Brunswick, GA. |
