MOUNT VERNON—Rev. Robert “Bobby” Thompson of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Vidalia, spoke to the Brewton-Parker College student body, staff, and faculty on Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Saliba Chapel. Following a brief anecdote about his younger brother’s brush with death after being snake bitten, Rev. Thompson informed the students that “We have also been bitten,” due to the first sin committed by Adam and Eve, “and the diagnosis is dire.”

“But, it’s going to be ok,” Rev. Thompson assured listeners, because Jesus became our remedy for sin, the “anti-venom,” and it is only through accepting Him that we are saved and given new life. “Today is the day to decide,” urged Thompson. “Don’t wait to receive the remedy before it is too late.”
