Call for teams to compete in 4th annual BPC Chili Cook-off
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Women’s Fellowship invites entrants into the 4th annual BPC Chili Cook-off, to be held Saturday, Oct. 22 on the Mount Vernon campus.
If you or an organization you are involved in would like to participate for the chance to win the bragging rights to the Best Chili in the surrounding area, contact Jennifer Blaylock at 912-583-3210. A registration form is available online at www.bpc.edu.
Team registration ends Oct. 11, so hurry and register your team today. Last year, 15 teams participated, and Youth for Christ with Chris Horne was voted Best Chili for the second year in the row.
This community-minded, family-fun event will be held between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Celebrity judges will pick the first, second and third place prizes, while each person who tastes the chili will vote for the People’s Choice Award; winner will receive the traveling trophy. This year’s community event will feature live music, face painting, paddle boat rides on Jones Lake, the Historic Village, celebrity judges and concessions by ARAMARK and BPC student organizations.
This event is a fundraiser coordinated by the BPC Women’s Fellowship. All proceeds will go towards the renovation of Tyre Chapel on Jones Lake.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia. With its main campus located in Mount Vernon, the college also offers bachelor’s and associate’s degrees at its three external sites in Newnan, Norman Park and Liberty County.
