MOUNT VERNON—Rev. Robert “Bobby” Jones of Laurens Baptist Association in Dublin, spoke to the Brewton-Parker College student body Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Chapel. “We were meant to live for so much more,” instructed Rev. Jones, quoting the popular song by Switchfoot, which was sung prior to his sermon. The message was centered on Genesis 13, the story of Lot, and he encouraged the congregation to “stop compromising with the world” and live for God. “We need to focus on the God who gives us blessings, and not on the blessings he gives.”
Praise and worship music was led by “Eden”, a band comprised of BPC students and alumni.
