MOUNT VERNON— Dr. Johnny Hunt, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia, spoke at Brewton-Parker’s chapel, Tuesday, February 7.
Hunt was an energetic and knowledgeable speaker inspiring the crowd to “obey where God guides.” Dr. Hunt used James 4:13-17 as his focal passage. He reminded the congregation they are not promised tomorrow, and not to boast about tomorrow. They should live their lives to glorify God! “Once you see God for whom He is, only then can you see yourself for whom you are,” stated Dr. Hunt. He also showed them in his focal verses that their trials will become joy, but only if they follow the word of God. His final question was more of a command than a question, “Did you obey what you heard?”
The BCM band provided music for this week’s chapel service through contemporary praise songs. Professor Jeff Audirsch provided the welcome and announcements. Many of the local pastors and BPC Board of Trustee members were in attendance.
Chapel is open to the community and held weekly at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays in Saliba Chapel.
