MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College’s Office of Alumni Relations presented several special annual awards to BPC alumni and friends of the college during Homecoming/Alumni Weekend, Feb. 10-11.
This year’s winners are: Alumnus of the Year, Dr. Freddie Smith (’62); Ministerial Alumnus of the Year, Nathan A. Finn (’02); Friend of the Year, Linda Bishop (current student); Young Alumna of the Year, Rhonda McBride (’97); Music Alumna of the Year, Jane Glisson Grinstead (’68); and Hall of Fame Inductees Ashley Todd (’07) and Dr. Ron Melton, BPC Professor of History and former Provost.
The Alumni Society Award ceremony was held in Gilder Recital Hall. A special musical presentation by Music Alumna of the Year Jane Glisson Grinstead, a pianist, complimented the moving ceremony. The Memorial Service honored 21 current and former students and friends of the college who had passed since the society had last gathered for Alumni Weekend 2011.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
