Chatraw Delivers Message at BPC Chapel
By Chelsea Moore, BPC Senior
MOUNT VERNON— Josh Chatraw, Associate Pastor and Youth Minister of Dublin First Baptist Church in Dublin, was the guest speaker at Brewton-Parker’s Chapel Tuesday, January 21st. Pastor Chatraw opened his sermon with C.S. Lewis’ claims about the character of Jesus, asking “Is Jesus a liar, a lunatic, or Lord?” He used the biblical passage of Matthew 11:1-14 as the basis for his defense of Jesus as Lord. Encouraging the student body to define who Jesus is, he asked the students to “analyze the outlandish claims made by Jesus of Nazareth.” Pastor Chatraw provided many examples for Christians and non-Christians to have faith in whom Jesus is through the Bible. He ended his message asking, “What will you do with Jesus?”
Andrew Tucker, a senior at Brewton-Parker, provided the music for chapel. The students worshipped through praise songs, “Come to Save Us” and “How He Loves Us,” and a traditional hymn, “Nothing but the Blood.” Professor Jeff Audirsch gave the welcome and announcements before introducing the guest speaker.
Chapel is open to the community and held weekly at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
