BPC Recognizes Distinguished Professor
MOUNT VERNON— Tuesday, January 17, marked a memorable event as Dr. Ron Melton, BPC Professor of History and former Provost, received special recognition as Distinguished Professor from BPC President, Dr. Mike Simoneaux.
Dr. Melton began his career at Brewton-Parker as a history professor and chair of the Division 1976. Over the years, his talents and commitment led him to take the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs, and later Provost.
He is recognized for his outstanding leadership and service to students, faculty, and staff, and for presiding over projects such as the McAllister Hall Renovation and building of the Hildegard Stanley Music Center.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
The mission of Brewton-Parker College, a Georgia Baptist college, is to develop the whole student through the application of Biblically-centered truth to a liberal arts curriculum in a community of shared Christian values.
