MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College’s student body elected David S. Dixon and Laura Ann Felice Veale their new Student Government Association president and vice-president during annual elections held on April 11 and April 12.
David, 20, is a sophomore majoring in business administration. Born in Atlanta, he currently resides in Ellenwood, Georgia. This year he has served as the SGA’s 2012-2013 president pro- tempore. “I aspire to continue to open the lines of communication between the administration and students and, overall, to increase student participation across the campus,” said David.
Laura, 22, is from Savannah, Georgia. A senior, she majors in psychology. When asked what she would like to see accomplished in the coming year, she said, “I would love to see this campus move to healthier options for the students; for example, serving healthier food in the cafeteria or possibly offering various exercise classes. The college experience is one that can and should shape an individual's life, and I believe that it is a priority of the SGA to make that experience worthwhile.”
David and Laura were sworn into their new SGA roles on May 1, 2012.
