Darren Talley Speaks at Chapel
 |
Darren Talley |
Darren Talley, a recent graduate of Brewton-Parker, returned to his alma mater as the guest speaker during the November 6 chapel service. He based his message from 2 Corinthians 12:6-9 which talks about a thorn in the apostle Paul’s flesh.
Some key points from Talley’s message are:
- 2 Corinthians is primarily a defense of Paul’s apostleship and teachings.
- Paul’s thorn was most likely a metaphor. One possible interpretation is that he had some doubts about his apostleship.
- Paul prayed three times for the thorn to be removed. Each time, God said no.
- God’s grace is sufficient to save us; God’s grace is sufficient to sustain us.
Erica Branch also returned to lead worship during this chapel. There are now three chapels remaining in the semester.
