BPC’s chapel service Tuesday, October 23 contained a special treat for students and attending community members with special music guests from the International Bible College of Zambia. Six African students led in worship by singing praises to God. They were given a standing ovation as they finished their third song.
For the message, guest pastor Jeremy Morton gave an overview of Paul’s life to illustrate the power of personal testimony. He started his message by talking about Paul’s conversion.
Key points from the message are as followed:
1. For Paul, Christianity wasn’t part of his life; Christ was his life.
2. Our personal testimonies are the greatest witnessing tool we have.
3. Make sure you’re saved. If you’re saved, share your testimony.
4. When you share your testimony, make sure to include three things: who you were before Christ, how you met Christ, and who you are now.
5. To illustrate this, Morton would paraphrase Paul’s response anytime he was questioned about who he was or what he was doing, “Hi, my name is Paul. I used to be Saul. One day I was heading somewhere when I met somebody. His name was Jesus.”
Morton is a BPC alumnus and is currently the pastor of Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry, Ga.
