Community Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Voices of Truth Perform Spring Concert

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Community Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Voices of Truth presented “The Sounds of Spring” Concert, Thursday, April 25 in Gilder Recital Hall on the Mount Vernon campus.

The Concert Choir and Voices of Truth, both under the direction of BPC Music Professor Dr. David Wilson, performed pieces such as “Hosanna” and “May the Road Rise to Meet You.” Members of both groups include: Sopranos Elizabeth Vetter, Suzanna Moye, and Olivia Brantley; Altos Katrina Franklin, Elizabeth Jones, and Elizabeth Mathews; Tenor Bryan Mauldin; and Basses Daniel Mackowski and Michael Mathews. Special piano accompaniment for the Concert Choir was provided by Brenda Searcy.

The Community Wind Ensemble, conducted by BPC Adjunct Music Professor Mark Baskin, offered a selection of pieces ranging from the familiar “Amazing Grace” to “Carry on Wayward Son.” Members of the wind ensemble include: Flute-Cynthia Brown; Clarinets-Jelon Dixon and Tiffany Gamble; Bass Clarinet-Jennifer Blaylock; Trumpets-Scott Rudd and Kristina Niehas; French Horns-Carol Jones and Leah Miller; Trombones-Travis Rodgers and Zachary Blaylock; Euphonium-Dallas Wilke; Percussion-Rekeal Bailey, Olivia Eason, and Michael Mathews.
