Rev. Kenny Grant, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Savannah, acted as guest speaker for Brewton-Parker’s annual Black Heritage Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Grant based his message off of Daniel 1:8-9. “There is an incredible power in living on purpose,” Grant told his audience, “When a person’s heart is right, they can see God. When a person has stinkin’ thinkin’, you can’t see God in anything.”

Grant told the chapel congregation that there are three things to living on purpose. The first of these, according to Grant, is desire. “But desire without decision is wishful thinking,” he said. Likewise, Grant implied that decision without discipline won’t last.

BPC’s Gospel Choir, comprised of students, provided special music for the chapel service. This was the third of fourteen chapels for spring semester.
