MOUNT VERNON – Brewton-Parker College held Commencement Ceremonies for the Class of 2013 Saturday, May 11 on the Mount Vernon campus inside Saliba Chapel. Special guest speaker for the ceremony was the Honorable Chief Judge John Ellington of the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Ellington spoke to the graduates about service and leadership. “The people you meet and the friends you make will make a difference,” he said. “Help build brighter futures for the state of Georgia. Serve others and get involved in your communities, and you know you will have made a difference.”

Following a processional of faculty and degree candidates led by Professor Zeke Addison, faculty grand marshal, Rev. Karl Hay, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon and BPC Board of Trustees Member, gave the invocation. Dr. David Wilson, BPC Assistant Professor of Church Music, led the ceremony attendees in the college’s Alma Mater, and Dr. Charlie Bass, BPC Vice President of Student Services, gave the benediction.
