Corley Receives Richard B. Russell Award

MOUNT VERNON— Mrs. Pat Mercer of the Richard B. Russell chapter of the Daughters of American Colonists presented the General Richard Montgomery award for an outstanding history student to Tyler Corley at Brewton-Parker College on Thursday, May 1.  The DAC presents this award annually to a top history or political science major at Brewton-Parker College.  Corley earlier on Tuesday, April 29 received the Political Science award at the Honors Day Chapel.  Tyler graduates this May and will begin teaching in the fall at an area elementary school while he also works toward obtaining a Masters in Teaching degree.
