MOUNT VERNON -- Brewton-Parker College officials are
preparing for the arrival of the majority of fall-semester students, with fall
classes beginning with evening courses Monday (Aug. 19) and day classes starting
Tuesday. Many students began their semester early with Music Week activities
that started Friday night and ran through Tuesday.
New student orientation begins Friday, with new students allowed to move into
residence halls beginning at 10 a.m.
Recent high school graduates are urged to attend all four days of orientation.
A special session for commuter students is planned for Monday beginning at 8:30
a.m. in Cook Building Room 101. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Advisement and registration for students who have not
previously registered is planned for Monday. New students may register from 11
a.m. to 6 p.m., while returning students may register from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Any inquiries concerning orientation and registration may be directed to the
Registrar's Office at 583-3240.
Also, rehearsals for the Brewton-Parker Choral Society
begin Tuesday.
Choral Society Director Mark Bowdidge invites all community members to
participate, as membership in the Choral Society is open not only to
Brewton-Parker students.
Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. in the Gilder Recital Hall of the
Miller Music Building on the Brewton-Parker College campus.
Inquiries concerning the Choral Society may be directed to Bowdidge at

begin regular-season play Aug. 30 with a pair of road matches. The Barons will
play at Jacksonville University at 5 p.m., while the Lady Barons travel to
Cleveland, Tenn., to play Lee University at 7:30 p.m.
