Brewton-Parker BSU receives Red Cross blood drive honors
MOUNT VERNON -- American Red Cross Southern Region Blood Services presented two
plaques to Brewton-Parker College's Baptist Student Union advisor and president
during the latest BSU-sponsored blood drive on campus Nov. 19.
Nancy Martin, senior account manager of the Southern Region Blood Services based
in Savannah, made award presentations to
Rev. Al Rahn for his leadership of the BSU and to Keith Wade, representing the
BSU membership.
To Rahn, Martin presented a plaque "in grateful appreciation for outstanding
leadership as the coordinator of the Baptist Student Union blood drive.
Through his hard work, loyal dedication and a commitment to voluntarism, the
blood program has grown and many lives have been saved through his tremendous
efforts."
The plaque Martin presented to Wade recognizes the group's "continuing efforts
to assist in saving lives through support of the American Red Cross Blood
Services." The plaque cited the Feb. 20 and Sept. 24 blood drives, during each
of which 50 units of blood were collected.
