MOUNT VERNON -- The Coca-Cola Scholarship has been renewed
to Melissa Glass, a sophomore at Brewton-Parker College. Glass, the daughter of Danny and Linda Glass of Woodstock, was first awarded the scholarship for 2001-02. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports special students who exemplify their potential to become the leaders of tomorrow. To qualify for the scholarship a student must be a first-generation college student and maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Glass qualified for this scholarship by meeting the requirements and by also having a record of high school excellence in academics and leadership. The scholarship is for $5,000 per year and is provided through the Georgia Foundation of Independent Colleges. Glass is a business major with high goals in the business field. "The scholarship puts me one step closer to recognizing the dream of owning a business," she said. -30- |
