Rested Barons resume schedule Thursday
MOUNT VERNON - The Brewton-Parker College men's basketball schedule has slowed
down immensely as the semester nears its end, with the Barons playing Thursday
for the first time since Nov. 23.
The Barons (4-5) got Thanksgiving weekend off after playing five games in nine
days on three out-of-state trips. They return to action Thursday with a visit to
Morris College in Sumter, S.C., for an 8 p.m. game.
The Barons then will be off until their opening game of the Brewton-Parker
Christmas Shoot-Out on Dec. 13, when they will play Claflin University in a
rematch of the teams' season opener. Brewton-Parker won that game 91-86 in
overtime in Orangeburg, S.C.
Embry-Riddle and Spring Hill College (Ala.) play in the other first-round men's
game, at 4 p.m. On Dec. 14, the first-day winners will play at 6 p.m. and the
losers will play at 2 p.m.
The tournament will conclude Brewton-Parker's first-semester schedule, with the
Barons resuming action Jan. 3 at the Georgia Southwestern State University
Holiday Classic in Americus.
