Gleaton garners GACC, Region XIII Player of Week honor for
Barons

VERNON - Brewton-Parker College senior and Columbus native Denson Gleaton was
named Baseball Player of the Week by the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference and
NAIA Region XIII for the week of April 7-13 after his offensive successes in a
three-game conference series.
Gleaton batted .545, with six hits in 11 trips to the plate that included three
home runs, in leading Brewton-Parker to two victories over Emmanuel College in
Royston on Saturday and Sunday. For the week, Gleaton tallied five runs scored
and nine runs batted in.
In Sunday's series finale, a 14-2 Barons victory, Gleaton was 3-for-4 with five
RBI and three runs scored.
Gleaton is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound graduate of Shaw High School in Columbus and
transferred to Brewton-Parker after playing at Gordon College. He plays first
base and outfield for the Barons.
Brewton-Parker (24-13 overall, 12-9 GACC) finishes its regular-season schedule
with a series at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, beginning
with a single game Friday at 3 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1
p.m.
The Barons will begin play in the GACC postseason tournament on Wednesday at
Albany State University.
