Creative Writing Opportunities

Brewton-Parker College students interested in creative writing can participate in a variety of courses leading to a BFA in creative expressions, with a focus in fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction.

In addition to these traditional tracks, students may also major in film studies, with concentrations in both theory and in writing.

On-campus, students can participate in the editorial experience of preparing and publishing two journals, one creative, Oracle, and one academic, The Journal Of The Georgia Philological Association.

Students, faculty and local artists participate in monthly poetry readings.  These events provide a public forum for all creative works in an atmosphere of other writers.  Refreshments are normally provided, and an open mic gives everyone the opportunity to share new and/or favorite work.

If you'd like further information, or if you're interested in obtaining information on admissions, please email Dr. Thom Brucie, or you may email Admissions directly.
