Why did you come to BPC? I always wanted to teach at a Baptist college. 

Courses you teach: General courses on the Old Testament, Old Testament Theology, Biblical Archaeology, and Biblical Hebrew

Interesting family facts: We are avid New Orleans Saints fans

Hobbies & interests: Traveling, Photography, Reading, and Running

Most influential persons in your life: My Grandfather and Father

Favorite BPC memory: Preaching in Chapel

Favorite preachers: I like the vintage Adrian Rogers’ sermons and, more recently, Tony Merida

Favorite authors: Academic writers: Rolf Rendtorff, J. Gordon McConville, Moshe Weinfeld, David Gunn; Fiction writers: Vince Flynn

Favorite music groups: No specific groups, but I love all genres except Country

Favorite movies: Tombstone, the Jason Bourne movies, and the Harry Potter movies

Favorite TV shows: 30 Rock, The Office, and The Mentalist

Surprising facts that students don’t know about you: I used to be a graphic designer

Pet peeves: People who talk during movies

What books, besides the Bible, have influenced you the most and why? Inspiration and Incarnation by Peter Enns. He does an excellent job of placing the Hebrew Bible into its context of the ancient Near East. Moreover, he makes his argument applicable for the church.

Ministry passion: Working with the homeless

Favorite thing about teaching: Mentoring students
