The Writing Center

The Writing Center contributes to the mission of Brewton-Parker College by providing support services for students and faculty in all disciplines, designed to help all of us become better writers.

Dedicated to the principles of classical rhetoric and the needs of contemporary academic and civic discourse, the Writing Center staff and tutors work to facilitate critical thinking, careful planning, effective communication of ideas, grammatical and stylistic correctness, and appropriate documentation and citation of source materials. All of these skills are central to achieving the goals of a liberal arts education.

Three main services are offered:

The Writing Center is located in the Learning Lab, in the Parker Building.

For some general ideas on how to get started, what to look for when you're revising, and how to cite your paper, Purdue University's Online Writing Lab is a great resource.
