The Writing Center --
Services for Students
All
Brewton-Parker students are invited to take advantage of
the free resources and services provided by the Writing
Center:
- A
library of reference materials on English grammar and
usage, composition skills, and proper citation and documentation
of source materials.
- Computers
equipped with learning software devoted to composition
and grammar skills.
- Diagnostic
tools and exercises designed to help students identify
and alleviate specific problems with grammar, style, and
composition.
- A
wide selection of handouts on topics of interest to writers:
specific grammar and style pointers, tips for research
and composition.
- A
quiet area in which to work and an informed staff with
which to share writing in progress.
Please
remember the following:
 The
Writing Center staff will not proofread or edit your draft.
We want you to become a better writer by understanding your
own writing process more completely, not by having someone
else make the necessary corrections for you.
The
Writing Center makes no guarantees about grades, nor do
we engage in criticism or discussion of any particular instructor’s
assignments or teaching methods. We are here to help you
recognize and respond to the rhetorical situations you face
in your writing assignments.
