Mt. Vernon, Ga.—The Jubal Brass, a brass group consisting of music leaders from Baptist churches throughout Georgia, will present a concert on September 29 at 7 p.m., at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon. The concert will take place in Gilder Recital Hall. Directed by Rev. Paul Aday, the program will consist of a variety of music, including sacred classics, hymns, and contemporary brass arrangements.
“We are excited about hosting this incredible group at Brewton-Parker,” said David Wilson, Assistant Professor of Worship and Church Music at the college. “You won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear some excellent music,” he added.
The group performs concerts throughout the state and accompanies the 350-voice men’s chorus, Sons of Jubal. Along with the Sons of Jubal, the Jubal Brass has presented concerts in major concert halls, local churches in Georgia, the United States, and overseas. In 2012, the group was invited to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) to participate in the International Spring Arts Festival. It was the largest group from the USA to enter the country since the Korean War. They received two distinguished awards for their performance in the DPRK. The group also performed at the renowned Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. In 2015 the group presented concerts and ministered in the country of Israel.
As part of the Worship and Music Ministry of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, the Jubal Brass present concerts throughout Georgia and beyond as a praise and proclamation ministry.
The concert is free, although an offering will be taken to support the mission endeavors of the group.
