MOUNT VERNON— Chapel service for Brewton-Parker College on Tuesday, September 27 began with students Olivia Brantley, Allie French, and Sarah Batchelor leading worship. Following the time of worship, Headmaster of Vidalia Heritage Academy, Jeff McCormick, opened his message with the question “Why are you here?” He then proceeded to answer his question by reading John 10:10, in which Jesus said “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” McCormick then stated, “We’re told that in order to live this abundant life we have to follow a list of dos and don’ts. All that does is steal your heart and leave you empty.” He then explained to the congregation that God placed them in His story and everyone was created for His grand adventure. “God has a plan for everyone, one in which you do not have to settle for less,” McCormick pointed out. “Once you understand that there is nothing you can do that will make God love you more and nothing you can do that will make God love you less, you will be on the way to living on the other side of that comma, a more abundant life.”
