MOUNT VERNON— Ray Sullivan III, Brewton-Parker College Interim Director of Advancement and former board of trustees member, has been named Executive Vice President and Director of Advancement, President Steve Echols announced Wednesday.
“We are delighted that Ray Sullivan has accepted the position of Executive Vice President and Director of Advancement at Brewton-Parker College,” Echols stated. “Ray previously served as chairman of the trustees at BPC and knows the school well and is passionate about our mission of seeing the lives of students transformed academically and spiritually for the glory of God. His years of experience as pastor of one of the key South Georgia Baptist churches has earned him great respect from Georgia Baptists. He will be a wonderful blessing to BPC in helping to secure the resources needed to fulfill our mission and in assisting me in leading our school to fulfill the great opportunity God has given us.”
“I consider it a great honor and privilege to serve here at Brewton-Parker,” Sullivan stated. “I have watched with amazement God’s hand of provision upon this place and expectantly believe the greatest days of blessing lie ahead. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with the tremendous faculty, staff, and students at this historic college, as well as the local community and Georgia Baptists.”
Sullivan served on the College’s board of trustees for four years, where he served as both chairman and secretary. In addition to his service on the board of trustees, he has also served as pastor for over 26 years. His positions have included Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Cordele, Ga., Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lake Placid, Fla., Pastor of Pinehurst Baptist Church of Pinehurst, Ga., Pastor of Indian Fork Baptist Church of Bagdad, Ky., Interim Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church of Columbus, Ind., Minister of Youth and Church Activities at Fellowship Baptist Church of Thomaston, Ga., and Minister of Youth at Centenary United Methodist Church of Macon, Ga.
Sullivan received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mercer University. From there he attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity and where he is currently working on a doctorate of ministry.
He and his wife, Stephanie, have been married for 24 years and have two sons, Collin and Granger.
