MOUNT VERNON—Roger Byrd, BPC Adjunct Professor of Political Science and Criminal Justice, has been chosen to serve a second three-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia. “The House,” as it is known, is located in Macon where it provides care and comfort for the families of seriously ill, critically injured or medically fragile children being treated at area medical facilities. The organization strives to strengthen families by keeping them together in times of medical need and crisis.
The Ronald McDonald House has been a beacon of hope for over 5,500 families since opening in fall 2002. Last year the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia served families from nine states providing more than four thousand nights of lodging and meals for families.
